The Money Trail – Taree, April 18
Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Taree.
Tigers Image (Race 2) opened at each way odds but is now joint second pick in the market at $3.80 having firmed more than two points. The three-year-old has placed at two of his three runs and the addition of a one-cup blinker could help correct some wayward manners at his last outing.
Liberty Pride (Race 3) is in to a red-figure quote at $1.90 having shortened more than a point-and-a-half since betting commenced. She ran a much improved race when stepping up to the mile last start and just missing and the punters believe she can break through fourth up.
Bonita (Race 5) has been a big go and is now into favouritism at $2.70 having shortened more than five points. The filly resumes but has a good fresh record and was racing well last campaign, particularly at this course.
Tawfiq Boy (Race 7) is a warm favourite at $2.20 having firmed the best part of a point since betting commenced. He looks better placed here after taking on provincial grade at his past two and was placed at this course first up.
