A G1-winning son of Teofilo, Palentino added to his superb record at Flemington and is now on track for the G1 Doncaster Mile at Randwick on April 1.

Teofilo has had an outstanding week, siring three major Group winners.

Last weekend Monday his impressive staying prospect Humidor Horseform won the G1 Australian Cup at Flemington before his giant son Happy Clapper Horseform staked his claim for the Doncaster with an impressive win in Friday’s G3 Newcastle Newmarket at Broadmeadow.

Palentino Horseform is one of 32 Group winners among 62 individual stakes winners by Teofilo, others including Kermadec, Special Fighter and Quest For More.

Bred by Jenny Watson of Macleay Thoroughbred Stud, Palentino was purchased for the top price of $85,000 at the 2014 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale by trainer Darren Weir.

He is out of the Palace Music mare Palatine Hill who is from the family of stakes winners Sublimity and Rather Grand.

Palentino has now earned over $1.2 million and is destined to be a popular stallion when he starts a breeding career for part-owners Sun Stud.

Happy Clapper’s win at Newcastle was his second in Group company.

Happy Clapper is out of the race-winning Encosta De Lago mare Busking, a daughter of stakes producer Winifred’s Prayer who is the dam of dual stakes winner Thankgodyou’rehere.

* Champion mare Winx has the Australasian prizemoney record in her sights after she smashed through the $10 million barrier with a runaway win in the George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday.

The incredible seven and a quarter lengths victory was the 16th straight win for Winx Horseform, the 20th of her career and her 11th at Group One level.

She is now in third place behind Black Caviar and Sunline with earnings of $10,438,925 on the list of Australia’s greatest stakeswinners and will challenge for top spot when she contests the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 8.

Winx (Street Cry x Vegas Showgirl by Al Akbar) was bred by the Camilleri family of Fairway Thoroughbreds and sold through the draft of Coolmore Stud at the 2013 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for $230,000.

She was purchased by Peter Tighe's Magic Bloodstock. Tighe races her in partnership with Richard Treweeke and Debbie Kepitis.

Incognitus Blamey Stakes 3U , 1600m
Race Synopsis: The scratching of Black Heart Bart took a lot of the interest away from this race, leaving a small yet quite good field, his stablemates eventually finishing first and second. Palentino broke well from barrier two to lead briefly but soon after drifted slightly to settle third against the rails, where he remained to the 800m. Jockey Mark Zahra eased the entire away from the fence near the 600m and approaching the last corner had him perfectly positioned to challenge, which they did passing the 300m. Zahra shook him up and he bounded clear to win as he liked by more than three lengths at the post. Tosen Stardom sat outside the leader around the big bend and into the straight, co-led at the 300m but never looked like catching the winner, battling away to hold second. Harlem was fourth turning and ran on to grab a late but distant third. Real Love was fifth at the top of the straight, looked like running into third but was nabbed on the line.
